RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 2 airs in February on LOGO

Get ready to start your engines all over again as everyone’s favorite “Supermodel” drag queen, RuPaul, is back with Season 2 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, premiering February 1, 2010 at 9PM Eastern on cable network, LOGO.

The show’s premise takes the concept put forth by America’s Next Top Model and turns it on its head.  Vying for the title of America’s Next Drag Superstar are 12 drag performers.  In addition to the challenges issued to the girls, the drama and emotions behind the scenes will run high in the race to the top, showcasing the contestant in full drag and out of makeup as males.  Each week, one of the contestants is eliminated until only one queen remains standing tall in her stillettos. 

The girls are judged on the ever-present criterium laid out in last season by RuPaul herself: “charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent.”  Returning for Season 2 are last season’s judges, fashion/entertainment journalist Merle Ginsberg and designer Santino Rice of Project Runway.  At the head of the judge’s table is RuPaul herself, decked out in full, fabulous drag.  However, RuPaul the man will be providing guidance and wisdom to the contestants throughout their challenges.
